Hot Stone Therapy
Hot Stone Therapy is a massage that uses the volcanic stones such as Basalt and Basinite which are heated, using water, to temperatures ranging from between 120–130°F (49-54°C).
The stones are different sizes and weights according to where they are placed under the body. This helps release toxins and improves blood circulation.
The use of Hot Stones means that the therapist is able to massage 10 times deeper than from using the hands, making it more intense but deeply relaxing.
In most treatments Hot Stones are placed on the Chakra Points, along the spine. The Chakras are the bodies vital energy centers.
When stimulated the body comes into balance energizing it and simultaneously balancing the energy flow throughout the body.
Cold Stones made of marble can be used to alternate with the Hot Stones to detoxify and heal the body.
It is mostly used as a deep massage which is nurturing and "pampering", aiding deep relaxation and bringing about rejuvenation, healing and relaxation subsequently easing stress and recharging energy levels.
